The processing of continuous multifilament high modulus fibres, is currently the most technologically advanced construction in the world for the production of fiber cables. The construction process of the Softrig Line cables is called “Sling”. This process is based on continuous winding of fiber between two fixed points placed at the desired distance. This special construction, accurately controlled with sophisticated equipment, produces the highest modulus of stretching and exceptional Breaking Load. The internal fiber of the cable, capable of ensuring its unique performance, is protected by three layers of different composition and density.

The replacement of steel cable/rod with textile standing rigging is simple and rapid, with the support of our technicians, and can also be performed in retrofit on any yacht, ensuring an improvement of performance.
The inspection of cables and their maintenance is very simple and rapid. The durability of the cables is long and the replacement of a damaged cable is never a problem, as it can be done easily thanks to their lightness.

This weight reduction translates into an improvement of the righting moment, which can be exploited by removing a weight in the keel as per 1:5 ratio (1,000 kg to remove from the keel). The dry construction of Armare PBO cables, allows a safety factor more than 50% higher compared to ROD, together with a weight reduction of up to 80%. The PBO cable is lighter and safer even when compared with other types of composite rigging.
The construction without the use of resins and the optimisation of the production process, allows Armare to obtain cables with the minimum possible diameter and a consequent advantage in the decrease of windage.
The adoption of PBO textile rigging provides various benefits to the performance of the sail boat, which may vary, according to dimentions and the proportional reduction of weight. Eg: on an 80 feet yacht, the weight of the traditional standing rigging reaches
The same assembly methods and identical materials are also used for producing cables made with KevlarŽ 49 core, using the sling technology. These cables are not designed to be compared with the stiffness of rods in Nitronic 50, but they are based on the final Breaking Load of the cable. The performance of KevlarŽ 49 cables is inferior to that of cables made with ZylonŽ PBO, but have the same high durability, low stretching and reducedweight, maintaining reasonable diameters. The lower price makes them more accessible on cruising boats, when better performance is required, in particular for backstays, runners, babystays, innerforestays.
